At the end of 2022, we shared a special message from Father David Bebawy and the youth of St. George & St. Shenouda to all of those who grew up at “Bergen.” You can see that message here on Instagram. This message kicked off last year’s HAVEN match campaign, which, through God’s grace and your generous support, was tremendously successful. Last year, we had our largest match ever of $75,000. We raised $308,663 and increased one-time monthly donations by $9,671. In short, last year’s campaign brought in ~$425,000 in one day. Thank God!
Your generosity last year propelled the Sip Ave Project to achieve critical milestones, including the securing of the bank loan in May 2023, the addition of the steeples, and the placement of the domes. We recently completed the exterior of the gym and, God willing, we’ll complete the interior of the gym in early 2024. If you drive by the project, you’ll also see that 30% of the brick facade is now installed, with the remaining to be completed by early spring.

This is why the annual match campaign is so critical – it brings us that much closer to completing our HAVEN on Sip Ave.

The 2023 Match Campaign:
While the progress made is incredible, your prayers and support are still needed now more than ever. We are excited to announce our largest match ever! Thanks to a generous group of donors, all donations made between now and Sunday, December 31st will be doubled up to $100,000. This match campaign is intended to provide the church with the necessary capital to fully complete the building construction through dollar donations, ACH contributions, or increasing current ACH contributions.
How You Can Participate:
You may give here and select “HAVEN Match Campaign” from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you may donate via check directly to the church fathers and write “HAVEN Match Campaign” in the memo.
We pray that God continues to bless this construction project so that He may be glorified and that He blesses you all for your prayers, efforts and donations.
Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. 1 Timothy 6:17-19
